Normal Wear and Teary

Hardwood is durable, but not impervious to everyday wear and tear. Most often the visual wear that you see is mostly superficial. This can usually be treated by a light sanding followed by resealing of the flooring. The resealing will help to reduce further scratches from occurring.

Discoloration of the Boards

Leaks and excessive wear and tear can cause the boards to fade or become discolored. Depending on the type of flooring, sometimes just sanding and refinishing will take care of the problem. If this is not possible, the board might need to be replaced. If these new boards are not able to be matched to the original flooring, boards from an inconspicuous place (like a closet) to replace those that are damaged to maintain a uniform look.

Uneven Boards
